Tasting Notes 2012 Alavigna Tosca is rich, satisfying and is at its best on the table. The primary red fruit with its bright cherry core is supported by black licorice, cocoa, violets and fresh herbs. Pure vanilla extract lingers on the palette with an accent of roasted coffee from a touch of wood flavor. Firm acidity from the Sangiovese and fine tannins from the Cabernet Sauvignon form the base. This wine pairs perfectly with all foods or a fine meal of braised game, roasted fowl, cured meats and aged cheeses.
