Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Witness this lovely 2007 Alavigna Tosca from Ackerman Family Vineyards. A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Ackerman’s vineyards nestled within the hills east of the city of Napa, and 60% Sangiovese from Luna Vineyards – the pre-eminent Sangiovese producer in Napa Valley. The wine is surprisingly rich and smooth, with lovely cherry, berry, spice flavors that linger forever on the palate. The wine is elegant and exceptionally well balanced with medium-plus tannins and acid, and subtle vanillin oak influences adding beautiful complexity. Compared to a typical Italian Super-Tuscan, this is softer and more enticing…compared to most Cal-Italia blends, this wine is beyond compare! Enjoy anytime over the next five to eight years.” Peter Marks, Master of Wine
