Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This new Bordeaux red blend from Ackerman Family Vineyards is an impressive addition to the team. You might all it the Goldilocks wine – not quite as rich and structured as the Ackerman Cabernet Sauvignon, yet with more depth and firmness than the Alavigna Tosca. It’s what you’d expect from a blend of all 5 primary Bordeaux red grapes – notes of intense blackberry, black currant, ripe dark plum, and a hint of pencil shavings. On the palate the wine is rich and full-bodied, showing a sweetness of fruit and medium-full tannins creating an almost ying and yang dance on the palate. The long finish is complex, earthy, and sublime. Lovely now, this should improve over the next 5 years and will hold another 10 years beyond that. — Peter Marks, MW
